Our Story: Bringing Fine Indian Dining to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Angeethi Flame Fine Indian Bistro was founded with a clear vision: to bring authentic, freshly prepared North Indian cuisine to Saskatoon at a fine dining standard. The restaurant first opened on August 13, 2016, in Downtown Saskatoon, led by General Manager and Executive Chef Neelam Rani. Her dedication to quality — both in the kitchen and in the dining experience — quickly made Angeethi Flame stand out in Saskatoon's competitive food scene.
The name "Angeethi" means a traditional clay or iron cooking hearth used in Indian homes, reflecting the restaurant's deep-rooted commitment to authentic, home-style Indian cooking elevated to a fine dining experience. The menu takes diners on a culinary journey through the vibrant flavours of the Indian subcontinent — from rich Butter Chicken and slow-cooked Lamb Curry to sizzling tandoori platters, fragrant Chicken Biryani, and beloved vegetarian dishes like Paneer Lababdar and Gobi Manchurian.
The success of the original downtown location led to the opening of the current Stonebridge/Preston Crossing location at 3020 Preston Ave S in South Saskatoon — now the restaurant's primary and thriving home. With a beautifully decorated interior, generous portions, attentive table service, and late-night dining until 1:30 AM every day, Angeethi Flame has built a loyal community following and consistent top ratings on Google and TripAdvisor, standing as a benchmark for authentic Indian cuisine in Saskatoon.
True to the spirit of the traditional angeethi — a coal-fired clay stove symbolising the warmth and authenticity of home-cooked Indian food — Angeethi Flame remains family-operated, with a homely ambiance and a heartfelt approach to cooking that keeps guests coming back time and again.
